Investor Relations and Post-Investment Support

Receiving funds begins a new set of responsibilities. Investors, lenders and donors may expect regular information, consent requests, performance updates and evidence that funds are being used as agreed. Gracen Law combines capital advisory and legal support to help businesses, funds, portfolio companies and impact institutions organise those commitments and maintain an informed relationship with their capital providers.

We connect financial and operational reporting with the actual funding documents. The result is a practical process for gathering information, explaining performance, recording decisions and preparing for the next funding cycle.

Build reporting around the commitments you made

Different funding instruments create different expectations. An equity investor may require management accounts and board papers; a lender may monitor covenants; a donor may restrict expenditure and request impact reports. We review the agreements and identify the information, approvals and deadlines that matter. Your management team then has a clearer basis for assigning responsibility and reporting consistently, including when performance or plans change.

Investor Relations and Post-Investment Support

Our post-investment support offering

01

Performance tracking and investor reporting

We help define reporting schedules, useful performance indicators and an investor update format suited to the institution. The work can connect financial results, operating progress, cash requirements and agreed milestones. Where the mandate includes financial analysis, we agree the relevant specialist inputs. Management remains responsible for providing accurate underlying records and explaining significant changes.

02

Board, shareholder and stakeholder communication

We support board reporting, shareholder communications and the records behind material decisions. This can include consent requests, meeting papers, approval records and updates on commitments made during the investment. We review which information can be shared, who should receive it and how commercially sensitive matters should be handled under the applicable arrangements.

03

Donor obligations and follow-on funding

For grant-funded and blended finance institutions, we help organise spending conditions, reporting requirements and changes requiring donor approval. We also support preparation for follow-on capital by keeping the funding record, governance documents and data room current. Future financing is assessed against existing investor rights, lender restrictions and donor commitments rather than planned in isolation.

  • Funding obligations register with reporting, consent and review dates.
  • KPI framework and investor reporting templates within the agreed scope.
  • Board reporting packs, shareholder updates and decision records.
  • Donor reporting workplan and review of proposed changes to funded activities.
  • Follow-on funding preparation, capital planning and data room updates.

An ongoing process that fits your institution

We begin with the funding agreements, existing reports, governance structure and management priorities. We identify gaps and agree a reporting calendar, responsibilities and review process. Support can cover an initial setup, a specific reporting cycle or ongoing work under a defined mandate. When a new investment, significant variance or operational change arises, we assess the resulting reporting and consent requirements before communications or commitments are finalised.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you help after an investment has already completed?

Yes. We can review the completed transaction's reporting and governance commitments, assess the current process and organise the outstanding work. Bring the signed agreements, recent reports and any investor requests so that the engagement addresses the responsibilities your institution actually has.

Is this service limited to equity investors?

No. The mandate can support reporting to lenders, donors and other capital providers as well as shareholders. We tailor the work to the relevant agreements and recipients, keeping separate reporting requirements visible where an institution combines several funding sources.

Do you prepare or verify the institution's financial accounts?

The engagement specifies the financial analysis and reporting support included. Management supplies the underlying records, and accounting or audit work is allocated to the appropriate professionals where required. A legal or advisory review should not be presented as an audit opinion or independent verification of every figure.

Does stronger investor reporting guarantee follow-on capital?

No. Consistent reporting can help prospective funders assess the institution, but they make their own investment or credit decisions. We support readiness, capital planning and the documents for a proposed round. Existing funder rights and the terms of new funding still need assessment.

Can one reporting process serve several funders?

A shared information process may help, but each agreement’s deadlines, recipients, spending restrictions and consent rights need to remain visible. We can map the obligations, define reporting owners and templates, and identify where separate lender, investor or donor reports are required.
