Overview
We advise travellers, professionals and businesses on entry requirements, and on what to do when a planned visit needs more than an eTA.
When an eTA is not enough
An eTA authorises travel for a visit. Working in Kenya, running a business, studying or joining family here usually needs a permit or pass issued by the Directorate of Immigration Services, and it is worth settling which applies before you travel.
- Business travel that may turn into work in Kenya
- Staff travelling to Kenya ahead of a work permit
- Visitors who need to stay longer than planned
- Family members joining someone already living in Kenya
What it costs
The government fee for a standard eTA is charged per application. Any professional fee for advisory work is agreed with you before we quote.
| Authorisation | Government fee | Charged | Gracen Law professional fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electronic travel authorisation (standard) | USD 30 | Per application | To be agreed |
Government fees are as published on the eFNS portal. USD amounts for charges set in Kenya shillings use our fixed quotation rate of KES 125 to USD 1, and are not gazetted USD fees. We confirm every amount, and who pays and receives each line, in your quotation before you pay anything. Any professional fee for advisory work is agreed before we quote.
